Music Monday| Some Songs For More Spring Vibes

Hello friends~ So… I originally did have a drama review that I had aimed to post yesterday, and I had also planned on posting another proper Music Monday post for today. However, I’ll be honest… things happened and I also found out one of my uncles in Thailand passed. So I didn’t really have the time to focus and work on things like I had planned. The drama post should be in a few days or sometime this weekend at the latest. I’m also just gonna do like a little playlist of song recommendations today. Of course, we’re still going with the spring theme~ So today I’m just gonna share some songs on my spring playlist~ As per usual, I included some artists and tracks you may be familiar with, as well as ones you might not know~

Now when I think of spring, I think of bright colors, light and happy vibes, soft vibes, flowers, pastels, love, new beginnings, etc. I tend to also really enjoy more chill and indie stuff too. But for this playlist, it’s a mix of some K-Pop, R&B, and Indie artists and tracks with more upbeat vibes and even chill vibes. I do have a [BAYOG Spring Playlist I made ages ago]. But if I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think I’ve updated it in a while…. Still, I’m pretty sure most (if not all) of these tracks are on it~

마틴스미스 Martin Smith | 봄 그리고 너 (Paint on Spring)

This is an oldie that came out in 2017, but it’s still such a great track. I still love it even now. I think they were contestants on a show like Superstar K or something. This definitely one of the more upbeat and super happy kinda tracks. It’s another song where I can just imagine colors and flowers blooming everywhere~

SoYou 소유 Feat. Jung Yong Hwa 정용화 (CNBlue) | 썸 2

I was a fan of [SISTAR] and I loved SoYou’s solo works. One of my favorites is also one of her most famous hits called [“썸 (Some)”]. It was a track she sang with JunggiGo (정기고) and featured Lil Boi of Geeks. It came out in 2014 and was a major hit that’s still popular even today. Well, SoYou just recently released a new album and I was surprised to find there’s a follow-up to it. It’s literally “Some 2” and features Jung Yong Hwa of CNBlue. It definitely has similar vibes, less punchy though. It sounds sweet though and I think definitely goes well with spring. I can just imagine blossoming flowers everywhere while listening to it.

Chancellor 챈슬러, Younha 윤하 | Walking In the Rain

I’m pretty sure I’ve featured this on multiple posts already, but it’s such a good song. It’s soft and super sweet. I love Chancellor’s vocals. He’s always been an R&B vocalist that I loved even during his One Way days. And y’all know I’ve always been a fan of Younha. It’s just a sweet love song, and I can imagine this to be a perfect track during days with spring showers.

J.Bass 정바스 & Lee Go Do | Dancing In My Closet

Here’s a R&B/Indie track from J.Bass~ I love the bossa nova vibes in this track. It’s super chill and relaxing. I can just imagine myself lying in the grass amongst some flowers while looking up at the blue sky and watching the clouds. Just imagining it though… Cuz I’m actually pretty allergic to grass IRL Q~Q

yourbeagle (김미정) | Nice To Meet You

I just love the instrumental and how chill and sweet it sounds. yourbeagle is now performing under her actual name, Kim Mi Jeong. I loved her indie stuff and R&B stuff. I just love how chill, sweet, and bright this track sounds. It just reminds me of a new start and meeting~

OuiOui 위위| Lover

OuiOui is an indie/R&B duo. They tend to use like 80s/90s anime-esque art for their album art. This is just a sweet and simple R&B kind of love song~ Soft vibes, yay~ This track was only just recently released too~

Def. (Jay B)| WANT U

Again, Def. is Jay B of GOT7. I love the chill and somewhat dreamy R&B vibes of this track. It’s a track that spills love for this person. It makes my heart feel all soft and like uwu~

PARKMOONCHI 박문치, Young K (DAY6)| What A Wonderful Word

This is a collab between PARKMOONCHI (whom we briefly mentioned in a [previous Music Monday post]). I just love the bright, dreamy, and chill vibes from this track. It’s just really sweet. Young K’s vocals also go with the song so well too.

치즈 CHEEZE | 무드 인디고 (Mood Indigo)

CHEEZE was an indie band, however, the members left with only Dalchong remaining. So now CHEEZE is technically a solo singer artist. This is a bright and playful kinda number. It’s playful, bright, and sweet. The music video is also sweet as it shows the love of a couple and their eccentric and fun dates. It reminds me of those cute whimsical and artsy kind romantic films. It’s just super cute. So I recommend watching it if you like cute shit.

Peakboy 픽보이 | Walk

We’ve covered Peakboy on a [previous Music Monday] as well. I just think it’s a sweet track with a slight R&B vibe to it. It’s one of those sweet, soft, and subtle feels kinda tracks. It’s a track that’s basically like “I love you and want to go on a walk with you, and go forward with you.” I’m a sucker for these kinds of things.

Peakboy 픽보이 | Late Night

Okies this is one of my softer and slower songs for my spring playlist. I just think it’s sweet. I love tracks that describe these simple emotions and scenes. This one is about being excited to go on a date with your love, being so excited to see them that you can’t sleep. Cuz you’re just filled with thoughts of them. Yes, again, I’m a sucker for this kinda shit.

It’s been tough lately. I did want to properly do a couple of posts and do a brief hiatus. Hence I did have those posts planned. But things didn’t go as I planned…and things have been hectic for me and my family. Basically, to briefly summarize it: The other month we found out one of my uncles in Thailand was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was diagnosed to only have a few months left at most. Last week we were informed he had COVID and died from complications. Admittedly, I wasn’t close to him. However, my family and I did have things we had to settle and help out with. So that’s a reason why I also haven’t been as active or quick to reply on social media as well. Anyway, I still plan on finishing up my half-written posts by the end of this week. Then I’ll probably take a brief hiatus that would probably be anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. I dunno. We’ll see… Anyway, take care friends.
