Why hey there, BAYOG Fam~ Today is a double post day~ I’m continuing our MHAM Playlist with our Volume 7 post today! [Volume 6] was about the times you want to be alone, but at the same time feel lonely and helpless. Despite wanting to be alone, you’d wish to have someone comfort you. Well, that’s the theme for Volume 7. Volume 7 is about songs to remind you that there’s someone who does understand, supports you, and is ready to comfort you~

MHAM PLAYLIST| VOLUME 7

Volume 7 has 4 songs: “하루의 끝 (End of a day)” by the late Jonghyun of SHINee, “괜찮아도 괜찮아 (That’s Okay)” by D.O. (Do Kyungsoo) of EXO, “new light” by NIve, and “Lay Your Head On Me” by Crush. I’ve said it before, sometimes we’re just drowning in our negative emotions and worries. You feel tired and all alone, and just want and need some comfort. Yet, we worry about reaching out, or feel like we have no one. At times, we may believe our matters to be trivial. But we’re all human and there’s only so much we can carry by ourselves. Despite what we believe in those moments, we do have people who see us, want to comfort and support us, and wish they could make us feel better. Normally, I’d talk about each song and what it means to me, or why I think it hits me hard. But I think the lyrics for these songs speak for themselves. So I’ll leave it to you to interpret them as you wish. All I will say is that it’s ok. It’s ok to feel tired and overwhelmed. Most importantly, it is okay to rely on other people. Know that there are people who are there for you, who love and appreciate you.

Anyway, that’s all friends. I know, it was a super quick post today. But I feel like it wasn’t necessary for me to say much here. I truly do think the songs and lyrics already carry the messages I would’ve wanted to convey. As for the remaining volumes of our MHAM Playlist posts… I think I’ll have either 2-3 more posts. Ain’t no way I can post them all tomorrow. I’m still sleep deprived as hell too. So I’ll probably be spreading them out this week or something. Anyway, y’all take care. Stay safe. AS A GROUP OF BIPOC, BAYOG strongly stands with Black Lives Matter. We are all too familiar with the racism that we, our friends, and family have faced on a daily basis. Every life is precious. However, as BIPOC, we also recognize that black people are a group of people that face extreme racism and at a higher risk for their safety. We’ve individually done several donations. Of course, donations to support the cause and support change isn’t the only thing needed. Support for the cause and change also requires conversation and understanding. STOP ASIAN HATE

As an Asian-American, racism, xenophobia, and hate crimes against AAPI isn’t new. It’s always been around. Unfortunately, misinformation and the pandemic has caused an insane surge in racism and xenophobia. There has also been an insane rise in hate crimes. More recently, we’re seeing a surge of hate crimes against the Asian elderly. Particularly in the California and New York areas. Some cases even leading to injuries and even death. The sad thing is that many cases do not get alot of attention, or are just looked passed. It breaks my heart and is cause for concern since it affects our community. Since some of the BAYOG Crew (including myself) are Asian-Americans ourselves, I wanted to use our small platform to help in anyway. Hate, racism, and xenophobia is an ugly thing. We’re friends, in the same community, and against the same social injustices. So be kind and let’s fight these things together.
