Music Monday|Jukjae— Tattoo(타투)

Hello my BAYOG luvs!~Happy Monday!~ It’s officially February. So I’ll be doing sweet and lovely themed Music Monday posts to go with the Valentines theme for February~ Actually, I got a whole new BAYOG Playlist too (cuz yo’ girl was stressed and ended up making 5 new playlists). That’ll be dropping tomorrow probably~ Anyway, our first track is “Tattoo(타투)” by Jukjae!~ It’s a very chill and sweet K-R&B track~

Jukjae(적재)’s real name is Jung Jaewon(정재원). He’s a singer-songwriter and composer who’s known to be good at playing the guitar as well. He made his solo debut in November 2014. To be honest, I don’t know that much info on him. I just know that he’s currently under Antenna Music, the same label as [Kwon Jin Ah] as well as [Sam Kim and CHAI]. It seems he’s also worked on several songs with [Sam Kim] and [Kwon Jin Ah]. Other artists he’s contributed on songs with include [IU], [SEVENTEEN], [Sunmi], [TWICE], [Stray Kids], [AKMU], [Park Bo Gum], [Super Junior], [AB6IX], [Jung Seung Hwan], [VIXX], [WSJN], and more. Again, I didn’t know much about him. I only found out about him when I stumbled on “Tattoo” late one night. I also recognized him from JTBC’s [Begin Again], a show where a group of celebrity musicians travel and busk together. He also has a show on Naver NOW called Jukjae’s Midnight Workroom (적재의 야간작업실). I also loved his song [“Fixx Me”] from the K-Drama [엑스엑스 XX].

“Tattoo (타투)” was released back in August 2019. It’s a slow and easy going kind of R&B track. It’s got some really chill and sweet vibes to it. This track is probably the first track I was aware of from Jukjae. To be honest, the first time I found the song wasn’t even the original version. It was a relay cover by various different artists. I only came across it because of Zion.T (another one of my top favorite K-R&B artists). I instantly liked the track so of course I went to look it up. Yup, I instantly fell in love with the original version. Late night music finds are the best kinds, y’all~

Honestly, this track is exactly my kind of music. Y’all know I really love K-R&B. I absolutely love sweet and chill tracks like this though~ It makes me happy~ I love the vibe and the sound. I also love the sweet and simple lyrics too~ Love can be frightening and overwhelming at first. There can be fear, uncertainty, and some confusion. However, things can become clearer over time. Love, the thoughts of someone you love, and the time and memories spent with them are engraved on the heart like a tattoo. It’ll always be there~ hehe~ I think it’s true, whether a relationship works out or not. These kinds of things tend to still be with us, even if it’s just a bit.
