Music Monday|V(BTS) — Scenery (풍경)

Hello BAYOG Fam!~ It’s Minty! I’m back for another Music Monday!~ It’s still winter, and quite cold too (at least where I’m at). So we’ll be continuing our winter themed Music Monday posts today! Last week I recommended [“Snow Flower (Feat. Peakboy)” by V (BTS)]. I have another perfect winter track from V for you! Today we’re going with another unofficial song he released back in 2019, “Scenery (풍경)”!

I’ll be skipping the artist background info since I previously covered that in our last Music Monday post~ I’ll just remind you briefly that V (Kim Taehyung) is a member of BTS. Y’all know I’m BTS trash (BTS ARMY LIIIIFE). Tae is also one of my official biases; The other being Namjoon (RM). But of course, having a bias is a lie since they all bias wreck all the time. Still, I feel like I’d love to be friends with Tae.

“Scenery (풍경)” is a track by V of BTS. It’s another unofficial track that was dropped as a gift to ARMY (BTS’ fans) on January 30, 2019. So it’s not available on streaming sites like Spotify and whatnot. However, it is available to listen to on [SoundCloud]. It’s a soft, simple, and pretty ballad. I love the ambient sounds of the scenery in the beginning and throughout the song too. There the sound of a train, a bell, the wind, careful footsteps in the snow, and Tae’s breath. When I close my eyes, I can see the train, the bell, feel the wind, and feel the snow crunching with each step I take. The track itself is a piano based ballad. Later on we have some strings in the background. They’re kind of on the more softer, and subtle side. It’s like a support that really allows the focus to be more on the piano and Tae’s vocals. Although the strings are more noticeable towards the end. Overall, it just sounds like a pretty song that’s almost like a piece of art. It honestly fits Tae very well since he’s known for being interested in art, film, and photography. Throughout the song you can also hear ambient sounds of Tae’s breathing and the sounds of a camera shutter. I find it to be impressive little details that kind of tell a story. Again, it’s like it allows me to see Tae walking in the snow, amazed at the scenery before him, and trying to capture it on film.

Apparently the lyrics are rather simple. Yet, I find them to be really pretty and relatable. The song can be interpreted in 2 ways. It can be viewed as a love song about a person, or it can simply be about wanting to hold onto the moment and scenery before you. I think we’ve all experienced moments that amaze us and makes us feel a certain way. Whether it’s people, experiences, or the scenery. Sometimes we all wish we could capture it and hold it with us forever. These things can seem fleeting. You can miss some things in just a split second. Yet, a picture would be able to hold it for eternity.

I totally relate to that. Anyone who knows me, knows that I like to take ALOT of pictures. It’s for the same reason. I want to take in the scenery, the moments, and people I’m experiencing. They’re things that make me happy. Though pictures are only a snapshot of a second, it allows me to remember and relieve that moment. It allows me to reappreciating that moment, the people with me, and the scenery before me.
