Music Monday|fromis_9 — Feel Good (SECRET CODE)

BAYOG FAAAAM! I have one last Music Monday post for you today! I’ll try to make it as short and sweet as possible!~ This post is going to be on fromis_9’s “Feel Good (SECRET CODE). It’s actually a fun, funky, groovy, and upbeat song that makes it a perfect summer track too. I just didn’t want to post it last week because I thought 4 posts in one day would be pushing it… heheheh…

So we’re talking about fromis_9 (프로미스나인)~ They’re under CJ E&M. I’ll be straight up with you. I know literally nothing about them. So I did a quick search. They were formed in 2017 through Mnet’s Idol School, another reality survival show. The group then had their official debut in 2018. So they either fall in either the tail end of 3rd generation or the beginning of 4th generation of K-Pop idols. There are 9 members in the group. The line up includes: Roh Ji-sun, Song Ha-young, Lee Sae-rom, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung, Park Ji-won, Lee Seo-yeon, Baek Ji-heon and Jang Gyu-ri.

So today’s track is “Feel Good (SECRET CODE)” from fromis_9’s EP My Little Society. The EP and the MV for “Feel Good (SECRET CODE)” dropped on September 16. So again, this is a rather fresh release y’all. It’s a fun and upbeat track with retro groove and funk elements. It may not be the best track ever, but I think it’s one of my favorite summer releases so far. I immediately liked the track. I really like this kind of style. Plus, retro tracks have been very in these days. I just really love the guitar in it. I also absolutely love how bright, fun, and funky it sounds. Like I said, I know nothing about this group or their music. But I was immediately drawn into this song. I will admit that I feel like it’s missing something to give it extra OOMPH. But IDK what. Also from what I’ve read, this is actually a more mature sounding track from them.

FEEL GOOD (SECRET CODE)

Okay, first of all…these girls are all hella pretty. Secondly, I really like their style and aesthetic. I love how colorful and cute they look. I absolutely adore the outfits and make up. It’s just nice how fun and colorful the whole video is. They legitimately look like they enjoyed their selves filming this MV.

It may not be one of my absolute favorite choreos, but I do like it. I think it’s pretty fun~ I also like that it’s fun, but not complicated or strenuous.
