Minty’s Update Σ(°△°|||)

Hello my lovely BAYOG Fam! It’s your girl Minty~ So I’m sure y’all have noticed that I’ve been trying to be a bit more active on the blog. I know the bros have been hella busy and caught up with different things. So that’s why I’ve been trying to hold down the fort as best I can. I miss the bros too. I know I’m not as fun as the bros…especially when it comes to gaming and anime content. Still, I try my best with what I can~ Since I’ve had nothing but time, I’ve been trying to be a bit more productive. I wanted to have some more fun content for y’all. I told myself I wasn’t going to take any more breaks for a while. I was honestly trying to properly and regularly post content. Yeah…that lasted for 2 or so weeks?

Sorry fam…I’m going to be taking a bit of a break…again…l…ol

So I had wholeheartedly told myself I was going to be more serious and productive with blogging. I had mapped out a schedule… Like I accidentally planned out 2-3 months worth of posts. I was proud of myself cuz I actually managed to finish and schedule 2 weeks worth of posts. I was doing fairly well at posting and following said schedule…considering how I’ve just been super irregular with my postings over the past year… Especially since the beginning of 2020. However, I was scrolling Instagram and I saw a notice that GMM Grammy is doing auditions.

Y’all know music is my life. I love and enjoy music with all my heart. Hence the reason why I can make so many playlists, and why they’re hella large playlists… So if y’all didn’t know, before writing for BAYOG my thing was singing, writing lyrics, and posting my covers on YouTube. Shameless Plug: [piecesofminty YouTube]. I usually cover Thai songs, but for the most part I like to write and sing English covers of my favorite songs. I’m just an amateur and it’s just a hobby. However, I’ve always loved music and singing since I was little. At one point I really wanted to be a singer in Thailand. However, I’m hella shy, introverted, and I have hellaaaa stage fright. So I started posting my covers on YouTube. This is also when I started writing lyrics. I also used to do performances during college too…in hopes that more experience would help me with my stage fright. I still have stage fright, but I did it~ Wooo~ However, I ended up just leaving music as a fun hobby. I don’t post super often…mainly because I can’t mix the audio to save my life. However, I’m still always singing and writing lyrics. I’m not popular, but I honestly just post my covers on SNS for fun.

It’s for my enjoyment, as well as for my friends and family. It’s also just fun to share my enjoyment of Thai music with non-Thai speakers, and apparently Thai people use my covers to learn/practice English. Although, some of my favorite artists did see some of my covers. I’mma flex that I did get some praise, likes, and stuff has been reposted by those original artists~ I might not be famous, but senpai noticed me several times~

Now back to the present. GMM Grammy is the largest entertainment company in Thailand. They’ve housed some of the biggest names in the Thai entertainment industry. This includes many of my favorite artists from the past and present. This was actually the company I had dreamed of joining if I could ever be a singer. They just announced that they’ll be holding auditions. So I’ll be taking a brief hiatus to focus on that~ It’s slim to no chance. However, I thought I’d give it a try~ If anything, I can still dream of the slim chance that I could get lyric writing gigs haha~ So I’ll basically be on hiatus til about the end of the month~

There will be some posts that I had already worked on and scheduled ahead of time. If my time and schedule allows it, I might also still be able to drop some Music Monday posts as well. I most likely won’t be able to do any webtoon/manga or drama posts since I typically spend alot of time on those.

I also wanted to let y’all know I do have a plan. Y’all know we all love the blog. I may not have been with BAYOG since the beginning, but this blog has become my baby. Y’all know I’m always sad girl, and if I were to be honest…I feel like I don’t have much going on in my life. I typically feel like I don’t really have a purpose, or that I’m particularly good at anything. However, BAYOG is different. The BAYOG blog is alot of fun for me, and it really does give me a big sense of accomplishment. It’s given me a purpose to connect with others and share the things I enjoy. I also feel like I actually have something I’m decent at. So that’s why I’ve been trying to put in as much thought and effort as I can into the blog, even if I may seem a bit annoying at times. This blog has also helped me with dealing alot of different things from when I’m suddenly hella depressed, overwhelmed, or stressed. As well as when I’m hella lonely or suddenly hit with that big empty feeling and overwhelming anxiety during my sleepless nights. Honestly, I really appreciate y’all. You really don’t know how thankful I am to you all.

SO HERE’S THE PLAN, FAM:

• Music Mondays: This will be an easy regular post from me. I’ll basically be sharing a particular single or album. I should be posting these every week, or every other week.
• Wednesdays: I’ll be posting about a webtoon or manga series. I might also just do webnovel posts as well. I’ll most likely be posting these every other week. I’ll be alternating it with the Friday drama/movie posts.
• Thursday: I’ll probably be posting a Throwback Thursday post. This will probably be on occasion rather than regularly. I reckon I could do it at least once a month or every other week if I can.
• Friday: I’ll be posting either a live action movie or drama series. Like the webtoon/manga posts, I’ll most likely be doing these posts every other week. I’ll alternate it with the Wednesday Webtoon/Manga/Webnovel posts. Although…it also depends cuz I honestly haven’t been watching that many series over the past couple of months… (￣ ￣|||)

Anyways, that’s the plan. Things could possibly change, but this should help me post more regularly for y’all. I’ve kind of been trying to stick to this plan. I’ll pick up on it again after my break. Again, I’m sorry to be doing this to y’all again. I appreciate your understanding, and I promise to come back with more fun content for y’all~ Until then, I hope you enjoy the posts I have scheduled in the meantime. BLACK LIVES MATTER

This is a difficult, but necessary matter to address. I’m not good at putting things into words, so I apologize. We all know the matter regarding the unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others. The current Black Lives Matter protests are being covered globally. I’ve even seen it being covered daily by the Thai news. Racism is a very real thing. Being Asian, I’ve personally encountered bullshit racism on a daily basis. So I can relate and understand the struggles. However, I’m also aware of how much more difficult and blatant it is for black POC. AS A GROUP OF BIPOC, BAYOG strongly stands with Black Lives Matter. We’ve individually done several donations. Of course, donations to support the cause and support change isn’t the only thing needed. Support for the cause and change also requires conversation. Make sure to have those conversations. Aside from donating, I had several conversations with my family. I explained things to my parents, especially since some news stories were being reported inaccurately. I was afraid it’d be a bit difficult. However, as fellow BIPOC and human beings, it was a necessary conversation. My parents and grandma understand, and now stand on the same page regarding BLM as well. Please remember to be an active supporter, be it through donations, sharing information, and/or conversations and speaking up.
