Webtoon|Eleceed — Action Packed, Plus A Hella Fat Cat

Hihi BAYOG Fam! It’s a Sunday Webtoon Post kind of day!~ I’m sure you can all tell that I typically lean towards series that tend to be cutesy, girly, light-hearted, and full of romance and comedy. If you thought that was the kind of series was gonna talk about today, you’re wrong~ Well…not entirely though… Today, I’ll be talking about a series that’s filled with action, comedy, and most importantly…a hella fat cat!~ I’m talking about 일렉시드, or Eleceed. It was originally published on Naver Webtoons [HERE]. You can read the official English publication from LINE Webtoon [HERE]. This story is by Jeho Son, and the art is by Zhena. This series falls under the following genres: shounen, action, comedy, and supernatural.

PLOT (From LINE Webtoons):

Jiwoo is a kind-hearted young man who harnesses the lightning quick reflexes of a cat to secretly make the world a better place – one saved little child or foster pet at a time. Kayden is a secret agent on the run, who finds himself stuck in the body of a…um…decidedly fat old fluffy cat. Together, armed with Jiwoo’s super powers and Kayden’s uber-smarts, they’re out to fight those forces who would let evil rule this world. That is, if they can stand each other long enough to get the job done.

A while back ago I got a notification for a new webtoon series on LINE Webtoon. At the time, a couple series that I followed just ended. So I was looking for a new series and something to kill time. I initially got drawn to this series because I though the art looked really nice. I didn’t even read the plot summary. I just dove in. It was not what I expected. See I was just expecting this shounen series to be more on the action and serious side. Boy was I wrong. I mean there’s definitely action.

However, there’s also plenty of comedy. The two main characters are drastically different from one another. Still that’s what makes their interactions so enjoyable.

[Some Spoilers Ahead]

First off, we got Seo Jiwoo. Jiwoo is a high schooler. He’s a sweet, innocent, naive, and good-natured kid. He also absolutely adores cats. He often goes out of his way to help feed and take care of any cats he comes across. He’ll even spend all of his money to buy food and toys for them!

He does have a secret though. He has a special power that he hides. The boy is FAST. He can moving lightening fast for a short period of time. However, he’s had problems in the past. That’s why he’s kept it a secret.

Still, he’s known to use his abilities to help others when necessary. He’s a a lil’ cinnamon roll~ He’s precious, and must be protected!!~ (≧ω≦)

Then we have Kayden. He too has abilities. Apparently there’s like a secret society of people with such supernatural abilities. It seems like Kayden is rather skillful and powerful. Either way, he’s on the run and hiding from some people.

Kayden is injured and decides he needs to use his abilities to hide and keep a low-profile from his pursuers. Unfortunately, he unknowingly disguises himself as a hella chonky cat. Which is hilarious as shit.

Jiwoo is the one who finds an unconscious and injured Kayden, bringing him home. Alot of the jokes stem from Kayden being disgusted by cat-like behavior, but ultimately giving into his newfound feline urges.

Jiwoo has been completely aware of this secret society of ability holders. It’s only through Kayden that he learns more about it. Kayden even starts to teach Jiwoo a few things. Kayden sees that Jiwoo may seem like an unrefined noob, but he’s truly gifted. He has potential, and may be something like a prodigy. Kayden acts like tough and cold. However, he does seem to show concern for Jiwoo. Thus begins Kayden’s reluctant friendship with Jiwoo. It’s a cute bromance. I approve.

It seems great that Jiwoo finally has a friend, and doesn’t have to feel lonely. However, this newfound knowledge isn’t only good. Jiwoo has crossed a line, and he won’t be able to turn back. Danger is lurking, and is awaiting Jiwoo.

Ooooh~ Why hello there~

I’m really surprised as to how much I’m enjoying the series so far. I love the character designs and their personalities. Jiwoo is a cute sweetheart. Kayden as a chonky boi is just OMG. I also love the cold character design for Wooin. Wooin’s character looks colder and more mature compared to Jiwoo and Kayden. In general, I’m loving the art.I just love the aesthetics. It’s visually appealing to me. I also love how it has these bright and comedic moments, then go to these serious and dark moments. It shows that Zhena is doing an amazing job at the art.

The same thing with the story too. It has such cute and comedic moments, but also these serious and action packed moments. It’s really wonderfully done. Have you read this webtoon?~ What did you think?~ What’s your favorite Kayden moment?~

I miss my chonky boi
