Carole & Tuesday is Infectious

Carole & Tuesday is Infectious

For the last few weeks I’ve been watching Carole & Tuesday and I’m obsessed. The OST is soo good and I find myself humming the ED almost on a daily basis. The series is just amazing even though I’ve only seen 4 out of 24 episodes so far.

Side note: I actually wrote this post a few weeks ago. I’ve been so busy that I didn’t have the time to edit and post it after I wrote it. Gomenasai!

I thought I would just gush about the series a bit because I cannot wait until the OST is fully released. If you haven’t watched the series yet, I totally understand. Netflix isn’t making it easy for us to watch it since they don’t simulcast but let me give you some info on what you are missing. I promise I’m not trying to get you into coming to the dark side or anything…

If you don’t know ANYTHING about what Carole & Tuesday is, Definitely check out my first impressions post here!

The best thing about the series is the bond that is built between these two lonely girls(see what I did there?). It is almost instantaneous. The way they found each other and became one, it felt very natural on screen and the chemistry just oozes through because of the lovely music they produce. This is obviously done intentionally but everything just seemed to be approached perfectly. This is something to be expected from the mind of our Space Cowboy, Shinichiro Watanabe.

I haven’t watched much anime that are centered around music but I feel that this series even rivals some live-action musical series’ we have in the states. That the music just seems to naturally fit with the story and flow/format of the episodes. Nothing feels forced and every song seems to display something very important almost every time. It always presents to the viewer how infectious Carole & Tuesday’s music is to everyone that it is played around. A good example of this is episode 3 when they find themselves in a jam session with a stranger waiting for laundry. Round & Laundry is a great song and just had a great progression that translated well on screen.

The way that Carole & Tuesday captivates people is part of what makes their journey so magical. Every episode we kind of get a small gist of how big this couple will be and it’s a nice ease into what’s to come. Roddy was mentioning how there were only 10 people that witnessed their first performance and just the way he described it showed how precious that moment was. He also leads up to it by talking about how much he feels he has changed since the first time he has listened to and met them. It’s really nice to see how much good their music does for those around it.

I’m a big fan of this series so even though we are only a quarter of the way through it, I can already say that I’m going to miss the hell out of it when it’s over. The only show that gives me a similar feeling would be A Place Further Than The Universe. It’s another great original anime series that you should all try if you haven’t.

I would love to hear what you guys think about Carole & Tuesday and just find out who else is watching. I need more people to talk about it with! If you’re waiting for Netflix to release, totally get it. Thanks for reading!
